Cleveland 83, Atlanta 99: (The return of Joe Tait... and then defeat)

Cleveland fans that were watching the Cavs game last night had their TV's on mute and the radio turned on. Thanks to the return of famous Cavaliers announcer, Joe Tait, who returned from a double-bypass surgery last year.

The return however could not will the Cavaliers (14-58) to a victory. The Atlanta Hawks (42-32) never trailed as they beat Cleveland 99-83.

The Hawks have now won two games in a row after losing eight of 11.

Atlanta was without their star player, Joe Johnson but that didn't stop the Hawks. Marvin Williams made the most of his extra minutes, scoring a season-high 31 points. Also, all-star forward, Al Horford chipped in 20 points of his own and grabbing 10 rebounds.

Marvin was in the zone for the majority of the night, shooting 9 of 14 from the field and also making three 3-pointers.

For Cleveland its the same story as it has been the entire season. No energy, no aggressiveness, and got off to a rough start.

Baron Davis, who is expected eventually be the starting lineup, came off the bench and scored 19 points. Starting point guard, Ramon Sessions scored 13 points for Cleveland, who have now lost nine of 11.

Daniel Gibson chipped in with 11 points, while Alonzo Gee and JJ Hickson scored 10 points each. The promising undrafted rookie, Samardo Samuels left the game with a wrist injury.

The Cavaliers are back in action, Tuesday against the Miami Heat. LeBron James return, part II is coming. James was welcomed back with a loud building of boo's and chants, but he and the Heat routed Cleveland 118-90.

Joe Tait Could Return

Joe Tait has been the voice for the Cleveland Cavaliers for 38 years and after a double-bypass surgery and an aortic valve replacement on January 7th, Joe could return for the Cavaliers final five home games.

He missed the entire season because of the surgery and he said he will retire at the end of the season, which will be his 39th with the team.

Tait could return for Sunday's game if cleared from his doctors when the Cavaliers take on the Atlanta Hawks.

Fox Sports Ohio will honor the Hall of Famer with an hour-special, "Have a Good Night Everybody," following the Cavaliers season finale.

Celtics 112, Cavs 95: (..........18 and counting)

We weren't confident the streak would end in Boston, but the Cavaliers did play better than expected.

The Cavaliers did however, set a new franchise record, losing 28 out of their last 29 games and have now lost 18 in a row thanks to the Celtics.  We've also lost 22 games in a row on the road.

It was the first time back in Boston since the Cavaliers lost to the Celtics in the semifinals, which was the second time in three years the Cavaliers lost to Boston in the postseason. The game marked the last time LeBron James would play in a Cleveland uniform before signing with Miami in the summer of 2010.

Boston beat Cleveland 112 to 95 in a night where Cleveland gave a decent effort. J.J. Hickson ended with 12 points and an impressive 17 rebounds.  Ramon Sessions continued his strong play with 14 points and 7 assists.

Cleveland came out hot in the first quarter hitting shot after shot, at one point shooting 58 percent in the quarter.

The red-hot Antawn Jamison, who has been averaging just over 23 a game in January, had 12 points and shot 5-14 from the field. Christian Eyenga continued his strong play as well, showing the Cavaliers what he could become. He continued to knock down shots and showed great athleticism, finishing with 15 points.

However, all that noise the Cavaliers were making seemed to change once Celtics fans witnessed the long awaited return of Kendrick Perkins. Entering the game mid-way through the first, the crowd gave him a standing ovation and Paul Pierce took over from there, ending with 24 first half points.

Boston pulled away from the Cavaliers in the second quarter, outscoring the Cavs 33-19.

The Cavaliers are continuing to give their young players minutes and they are developing. Manny Harris scored 14, Samardo Samuels had a career best 10 points and Joey Graham chipped in with 10 points as well.

The Cavaliers play against Denver on Friday, and will try to snap an 18 game losing streak.
